ANGUS OPTIX
Proudly independent local optometrists
Angus Optix Ltd was founded in 2005 by Pam and Steve Robertson, starting out from small premises on Forfar’s East High Street.
Over the years the business has grown to what it represents today from scratch, offering family eyecare within a professional, friendly environment.
Choosing your glasses
Once your eye test has been completed, your results will be handed over to our dispensing optician or a clinical assistant to help you choose the right glasses and take any measurements associated with this.
We have a wide range of frames and lenses to choose from, suiting many different styles and budgets.
It is important that you choose a pair of glasses that you feel happy with, and we will make any minor alterations to the frames to ensure they fit properly and a comfortable to wear.

Opening Times
We are open for business on the following days & times.
Monday to Friday: 9:30am to 6pm
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed

Our history
In 2012, Angus Optix moved to larger premises where we are based today, which allowed us to invest in state of the art equipment (an OCT – Optical Coherence Tomographer) to help facilitate eye examinations and reach a faster, more accurate diagnosis. It was around this time that Pam was accredited as one of the first optometrists in the country to be able to prescribe medications for eye diseases as an Independent Prescriber, and being able to offer this service has proved invaluable to a number of patients. These services are not readily available in all optometry practices and therefore we feel privileged to be able to offer this to our patients. Since then we have added to our gadgets and wizardry with corneal topographers, slit lamp cameras, ipad based dispensing tools, electronic examination charts and a whole new IT system! In 2012, Carol joined us as a clinical assistant along with Lisa. In 2013, our dispensing optician, Kirsty joined us and she was followed in 2014 by Kim (clinical assistant) and Nicola (optometrist). In 2015, Lisa flew the nest to Glasgow where she is now training to become an optometrist, but she still comes back to visit us at weekends as part of her ongoing training. In 2016 Nicola hopes to become accredited as an Independent Prescriber (like Pam), which can only add to the range of clinical services on offer. Who knows where the Angus Optix family will go next!
